Grant Bovey has become the first housemate to be evicted from the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house.

Anthea Turner’s ex-husband was shown the door on Friday (5 August) night’s episode of the Channel 5 reality show, after it was revealed Christopher Biggins had been removed for making “a number of comments capable of causing great offence to housemates and the viewing public”.

Grant had faced eviction alongside controversial radio presenter James Whale, after the contestants made their first round of nominations earlier this week, and was booted out after losing the public vote.

Speaking to host Emma Willis, he said he had “mixed emotions” about being the first housemate to leave.

“I wanted to be myself and do my best, and didn’t want to be first out,” he said.

“Everything becomes hyper sensitive! I am glad to be out and to see my children and to sleep in my bed!”

He also addressed his flirtatious relationship with fellow contestant Marnie Simpson, saying: “It was a rolling gag. I liked Marnie but not in that way.”

Big Brother then delivered a bombshell to the housemates, revealing they would be given the power to make an eternal nomination.

They were all then asked to decide which housemate it should be, with the group deciding on Stephen Bear.

The ‘Ex On The Beach’ star will now face eviction every single week for the remainder of the series.

‘Celebrity Big Brother’ continues on Saturday at 10.30pm on Channel 5.
