‘Coronation Street’ viewers will see Leanne Battersby preparing to leave Weatherfield in next week’s episodes - but will the mum-of-one go through with her plan?
Leanne has been wrestling with her conscious since accidentally getting pregnant, after a one night stand with Steve McDonald, and she’ll now resolve to leave the Street for a new start.
However, Eva Price has other ideas, and after seeing the opportunity to convince Leanne to stay, tells Simon to hide her coach tickets for Liverpool.
When, after a series of emotional goodbyes, Leanne realises they’re missing, she calls Eva and rebooks a later coach.
Her half-sister then meddles some more and goes to Nick, revealing that Leanne loves him but doesn’t want to stay because of her pregnancy.
Meanwhile, Leanne prepares to get a later coach, which Nick then boards in a bid to stop her from leaving.
The pregnancy is a shock not just for Leanne, but also Steve, whose wife Michelle is also expecting a baby.
Earlier this year, ‘Corrie’ producer Kate Oates revealed that the storyline is one of three that will dominate in the run-up to Christmas.
While Michelle is currently unaware that Steve is the father of Leanne’s unborn baby, this is soapland, so it probably won’t be too long before the truth comes out…
