A student found a touching note stuck in a tree, from a man hoping to reach his late mother.
Courtney Wiatt tweeted a photo of the letter, which had been attached to balloons, and said she cried while reading it.
In the note, an unnamed man tells his mother his wife and son are doing well, adding: âI wish you could be here to see them.â
The note continues: âI know you are looking down from Heaven all the time. I miss you like crazy and I hope you are having a great time up there.
âThereâs so many things I want to ask you and so many things I want to tell you, but I guess it will have to wait.â
The man finished the note by adding a paint print of his young sonâs foot on the back.
Wiattâs post has been retweeted more than 18,000 times, but not everyone thinks she was right to tweet the photo.
Some on social media have raised concerns that the note was private and the man did not intend for it to go viral.
But in a later tweet, Wiatt explained that she shared the note because she âthought it was sweetâ and never expected it to get so many retweets.
She added that she intends to send the note back into the sky with new balloons, saying: âI didnât wanna leave it popped in a tree.â
