It seems it’s full steam ahead for Lady Gaga’s return to the music scene, with reports suggesting she’s being lined up to perform during this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show.

In the past few years, the sporting event has seen some of the biggest names in music making pop culture history with their performances, whether it’s for MIA flashing her middle finger during Madonna’s set, or Beyoncé raising eyebrows with her politically-charged performance last year.

Now, it seems it’s Gaga’s turn to take centre stage, as Us Weekly has reported that she’s “in talks” with Super Bowl bosses about taking on the gig.

When approached by Billboard, a Super Bowl spokesperson could neither confirm nor deny that Gaga was on bosses’ wishlists, insisting: We have had conversations with several fantastic artists about the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show.

Gaga already stole the show during last year’s Super Bowl, when she put the telephone hats and meat dresses aside to deliver a rousing rendition of the US national anthem.

Last month, Adele broke our hearts when she addressed reports that she’d been picked for the half-time show, insisting that she wouldn’t be right for the job.

She told the audience at one of her gigs: “I’m not doing the Super Bowl. I mean, come on, that show is not about music. I don’t really... I can’t dance or anything like that.”

Performers in recent Super Bowl Halftime Shows have included Coldplay, Katy Perry and Bruno Mars.
