'X Factor': Honey G Is BACK In The Competition, After Ivy Paredes Is Forced To Drop Out

Proving once and for all you can't keep a good tracksuit down.

Thought you’d seen the last of ‘X Factor’ contestant Honey G? Well, think again, as she’s been thrown a lifeline by show bosses.

In Sunday night’s (25 September), it looked as though the rapping hopeful had fallen at the last hurdle, after failing to secure a spot in the ever-unpopular Six Chair Challenge, despite her protestations to mentor Sharon Osbourne that she could be about to “make the worst mistake of her life” and let “the next Jay Z” slip through her fingers.

Fortunately for Honey G (or Anna Guilford, as she’s known to her mates), she’s been given a second chance, due to Ivy Paredes’ premature exit from the show.

As was previously reported, Ivy managed to land one of Sharon’s six chairs, but had to pull out of the competition when she failed to obtain a US visa, meaning she couldn’t travel to Los Angeles for Judges’ Houses.

‘X Factor’ viewers previously hit out at the show last weekend, when Honey G sailed through Bootcamp, ahead of acts who some fans of the show claimed were more worthy hopefuls.

But she isn’t the only one of this year’s contestants to be made an offer of redemption, with each judge choosing a wildcard act for one of their fellow panellists, who will then get the chance to compete at Judges’ Houses.

Louis Walsh picked 16-year-old Samantha Lavery for Simon Cowell, after she lost her seat to Gifty Louise this weekend, while Simon picked Ryan Lawrie for Nicole Scherzinger.

Nicole offered Saara Aalto a second chance on Sharon’s behalf, who in turn chose boyband Yes Lad for Louis.

See how each of the returning acts gets on at Judges’ Houses, airing on Saturday (1 October) on ITV.
