Little Mix Claim Zayn Malik 'Didn't Deserve A Warning' About New Single, 'Shout Out To My Ex'

We don't know about you, but we can't wait to hear 'Shout Out To My Ex'.

Little Mix have insisted that band member Perrie Edwards’ ex-boyfriend Zayn Malik “didn’t deserve” a warning, ahead of their new single, ‘Shout Out To My Ex’.

The girl group are set to debut their latest track on ‘The X Factor’ on Sunday (16 October), and lyrics which have already surfaced would suggest that Zayn’s ears might be burning every time it gets played on the radio.

One line of the song in particular has Perrie singing about how she hopes an ex’s new squeeze is getting “better sex” than she did, later joking that she’d “faked it”.

When asked whether she’d given Zayn a heads up about the lyrics by The Sun, Perrie apparently offered a “blunt” no, while bandmate Jesy Nelson interrupted: We don’t think he deserves a warning! He’ll just have to wait to see.”

Further lyrics of the song read: “Shout out to my ex, you’re really quite the man. You made my heart break and that made me who I am.”

Of course, it’s probably only fair that Perrie should get to tell her side of the story, after Zayn revealed that several tracks on his debut album, ‘Mind Of Mine’, describe the pair’s highly-publicised break-up.

Zayn and Perrie began dating in 2012, after meeting while she was still a contestant on ‘The X Factor’, announcing their engagement a year later.

They eventually confirmed their split in 2015, and while Zayn has since started dating model Gigi Hadid, Perrie has been linked with actor Luke Pasqualino.

‘Shout Out To My Ex’ will be released on Monday (17 October), the day after Little Mix’s live ‘X Factor’ performance, as the lead single from their fourth album, ‘Glory Days’.
