Jamelia has reportedly been axed from ‘Loose Women’, after her controversial opinions came under fire from some viewers.
The ‘Superstar’ singer first became a permanent panellist in 2013, but has now not been seen on the show since August.
Now, The Sun has claimed that she has lost her seat on the panel, as ITV bosses are keen to “distance themselves from her views”, most notably when she faced a huge backlash for her comments about plus-size clothing.
An insider tells the newspaper: “Jamelia really annoyed bosses with her comments on high street shops selling bigger clothes. The show is often close to the bone but those comments were the final straw.
The specific incident in question came in 2015, when Jamelia ruffled feathers for saying: “I don’t believe stores should stock clothes below or above a certain weight. [Bigger people] should be made to feel uncomfortable when they go in and can’t find a size.
“I do not think it’s right to facilitate people living an unhealthy lifestyle.”
HuffPost UK has contacted ‘Loose Women’ for comment, while an ITV spokesperson tells The Mirror: “Jamelia remains part of the ITV Daytime family and is currently working on ‘This Morning’.”
She isn’t the only ‘Loose Women’ panellist viewers have had to say goodbye to lately, with Katie Price revealing recently that she’s taking some time away from the show to focus on her marriage.
Meanwhile, last month long-serving presenter Sherrie Hewson bid farewell to the show, after serving as a panellist for the past 14 years.
