Great British Bake Off's Mary Berry Teases 'Gardening Show' With Mel And Sue Could Be In Her Future

At least her new idea still has potential for plenty of innuendo. ๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒท

Mary Berry has opened up about her future with the BBC, ahead of her final episode of โ€˜The Great British Bake Offโ€™, which will air on Wednesday (26 October).

The series seven finale will be Maryโ€™s last outing as a โ€˜Bake Offโ€™ judge, as she quit the show alongside presenters Mel and Sue last month, when it was announced that it had been bought by Channel 4.

But with โ€˜Bake Offโ€™ soon to be a part of her past, Mary has admitted sheโ€™s already looking ahead, and explains sheโ€™d be keen to work with Mel and Sue in the near future.

Speaking to Chris Evans on his BBC Radio 2 breakfast show, she revealed: โ€œWe havenโ€™t actually all three got together, but we will do something because weโ€™re good pals, and who knows what it would be?โ€

When asked whether theyโ€™ll be teaming up for a new baking show, Mary offered: โ€œYou never know, it could be gardening. Iโ€™m a very keen gardener you know?โ€

Way to throw us a curveball, Mary.

Since it emerged that Paul Hollywood would be the only member of the current โ€˜Bake Offโ€™ team sticking with the show when it makes the jump to Channel 4, rumours have been rife that the BBC was already planning a new project for Mary, which could see her reunite with Mel and Sue.

Reports even suggested that the BBC would be planning to air their new project before Channel 4โ€™s โ€˜Bake Offโ€™ reboot, which will launch in 2017 with a celebrity special, in aid of Stand Up To Cancer.

During her Radio 2 interview, Mary also spoke about her decision to quit โ€˜Bake Offโ€™ in order to stay at the BBC, insisting: โ€œI made it straight away for myself, having discussed it with my family and others.

โ€œIโ€™m very happy Iโ€™ve stayed with the BBC. Everything Iโ€™ve done has been with the BBC and I wanted to stay with them.โ€

The seventh โ€˜Bake Offโ€™ winner will be crowned in Wednesdayโ€™s finale, airing at 8pm on BBC One.
