The venue describes itself as for 'liberated people'.

A fire has torn through a naturist health spa in London’s Kentish Town.

The fire damaged a sauna at Rio’s on Kentish Town Road on Friday.

The Evening Standard said there were unconfirmed reports of women being evacuated wearing towels.

Rio’s’ website describes the spa as for “liberated people aged 21+ where you can enjoy the company of likeminded adults”.

It offers couples nights, massages, jacuzzis and a plunge pool.

A statement from the London Fire Brigade said: “Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a spa in Kentish Town Road, Kentish Town.

“A sauna at the rear of the ground floor was damaged by fire.

“The Brigade was called at 1300 and the fire was under control at 1409. Fire crews from Kentish Town, Euston and Hornsey fire stations attended the scene.

“The Brigade’s 999 control officers took more than 35 calls to the fire.

“The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
