'X Factor': Simon Cowell Brings Ed Sheeran In To Pen This Year's Winner's Single

Not the best news for Honey G, though.

Simon Cowell has reportedly called on the help of an A-list star to stop this year’s ‘X Factor’ winner from falling into the same embarrassing trap as last year.

Back in December, reigning champion Louisa Johnson had the lowest-charting winner’s single in the show’s history, when she her cover of Bob Dylan’s ‘Forever Young’ landed at number nine.

It has now been claimed that the music mogul is determined that the same thing won’t happen again, roping in Ed Sheeran to pen an original song.

However, if the thought of Honey G putting her spin on an Ed Sheeran original, we’re afraid we have some bad news.

Louisa recently admitted that she was unhappy with her choice of winner’s song, even publicly saying she thought that ‘X Factor’ bosses should take a different approach in future.

She told Digital Spy: “You are just given the song and there is no choice but to just do it… I do feel like they need to refresh it a bit and make it more young. There are a lot of young people who buy music from ‘The X Factor’.”
