'Strictly Come Dancing': Danny Mac Wins First 40 Of The Series With Charleston At Blackpool

As Craig would say, it was FAB-U-LOUS, darling.

It has taken nine whole weeks, but the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judges have finally given their first perfect score of the series.

Danny Mac and his partner Oti Mabuse were awarded the maximum 40 points for their Charleston, as the show came live from the Blackpool Tower Ballroom on Saturday (19 November).

After coming close on a number of occasions, Craig Revel Horwood, Darcey Bussell, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli were all in agreement Danny’s routine was deserving of them getting out their ‘10’ paddles.

Len remarked: “It was so full on and it was so tight. What I love is dances right on the edge where anything can happen or go wrong and you held it, it was absolutely fantastic.”

Craig simply said: “One word, three syllables darling, FAB-U-LOUS.”

Danny was overwhelmed, adding: “I can’t even put into words how this feels. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”

Danny and Oti were followed by Ore Oduba and Joanne Clifton in the leaderboard, with their Vienese Waltz scoring 38 points.

At the other end of the pile was Ed Balls and partner Katya Jones, whose Jive (to ‘Great Balls Of Fire, no less) scored just 23 points.

Another couple will be leaving the competition on Sunday night, with the results show airing at 7.15pm on BBC One.
