Lorraine Kelly suffered an unfortunate live TV blunder while presenting her daytime show on Thursday (1 December), after getting her words in a muddle and telling a guest he had been “euthanised”.
The TV presenter was interviewing actor Alan Davies in the most recent instalment of ‘Lorraine’, who was on the show to promote the Christmas special of ‘Jonathan Creek’.
However, she made quite the blunder when she commented on the fact that her guest’s grey hair had been sprayed brown for a flashback sequence on the show, only to tell him he had been “euthanised”.
After a clip of the show was aired, she told him: “Oh, you’ve been… digitally youth-anised.”
Except what she actually said was “euthanised”.
When a confused Jonathan interjected that was perhaps the wrong choice of words, she was quick to laugh off her comment, joking: “That sounds bad. That certainly isn’t what I mean...”
No, Lorraine. We don’t think it is.
This isn’t the first time in recent weeks that a live TV blunder has occurred on ‘Lorraine’.
Back in October, viewers were quick to point out that a clip of Ore Oduba on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ had been played behind actor Patrick Robinson, as he discussed his own experiences of the BBC dance show.
Earlier this week, she was also forced to apologise when she claimed that a recipe from former ‘Great British Bake Off’ contestant John Whaite - shown during a segment on “meat-free dishes”- was suitable for vegetarians, despite the fact that it contained chicken stock.
‘Lorraine’ airs weekdays from 8.30am on ITV.
