At 112 years old, Batuli Lamichhane is one of the oldest people in the world.

But despite her apparent good health, the centenarian has one surprisingly unhealthy habit.

The great-grandmother estimates that she’s smoked around 30 cigarettes each day for 95 years of her life.

Smoking is known to increase a person’s risk of a range of illnesses, such as coronary heart disease, heart attack, stroke and lung cancer.

But Lamichhane has managed to avoid such problems.

According to the Daily Mail, she won’t smoke “commercially made” cigarettes and instead, smokes locally made “beedis” - tobacco wrapped in tendu leaf.

However, she insists that she’s still a very active person and believes regular exercise is the secret to her longevity.

She lives on the hills of Nuwakot, Nepal, so gets a daily workout walking up and down the steep terrain.
