Anyone who’s watched ‘The X Factor’ for a long time will always tell you the best and worst thing about the final is when all the old auditionees come back for a *ahem* special performance.
However, this year’s spectacle was an even more tuneless experience than usual.
Some of the most memorable contestants, including living doll Sada Vidoo and Simon Cowell look-a-like Edward Lee, tortured entertained the crowds at Wembley Arena during Sunday (11 December) night’s grand final.
The vocally challenged bunch took on a rendition of ‘Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now’, and let’s just say it’s not something we will forget in a hurry.
The final saw Matt Terry and Saara Aalto go head-to-head in a bid to be crowned the winner of ‘The X Factor’.
As well as singing two solo songs, the pair also duetted with Kylie Minogue on her Christmas single ‘Everybody’s Free’.
2011 champions Little Mix also returned to the show to perform new single ‘Touch’, while Madness were handed an extended slot, playing a three-song set.
The show is already accepting applications for next year’s series, having been renewed until at least 2019 in a new deal with ITV, which was signed earlier this year.
It is also widely expected all four judges - Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, Nicole Scherzinger and Sharon Osbourne - will return in 2017, after Simon admitted he is keen to sign them up again.
