Tesco Ready Meal And Lindt Easter Egg Recall Over Allergen Fears

Tesco and Lindt have issued recalls over products that pose an allergen risk.

The supermarket’s chicken chow mein ready meals have been found to contain curry which includes egg, milk, mustard and sesame, that is not mentioned on the label.

While Lindt’s milk chocolate eggs have been recalled as they may potentially appear in dark chocolate and white chocolate packaging.

These contain barley which the correct eggs don’t.

If you have purchased either of these products they can both be returned for a full refund.

We have been made aware by our supplier that due to a manufacturing error Tesco Chicken Curry has mistakenly been packed in Tesco Oriental Kitchen Chicken Chow Mein packaging. The Chicken Curry contains, milk, egg, mustard & sesame and as such product packed as Chicken Chow Mein will have the incorrect allergen information on the packaging.

As a precautionary measure we are recalling the affected date code from customers.
No other Oriental Kitchen Chicken Chow Mein batches or varieties are known to be affected.

An apologetic Lindt said: “We are of course terribly sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.”
