Alice Barnard graduated from Cambridge University in 1999 with an MA in History. Starting her career in the field of journalism, working initially for the former editor of 'Sporting Life', then for the Metropolitan Police newspaper before joining a publishing house where she worked for five years first in advertising, then in corporate sales.

After a stint with a competitor, Alice and two colleagues set up a company specialising in corporate sales in the areas of Construction and Utilities. This venture was both challenging and hugely valuable and offered Alice a fast track to understanding the demands and responsibilities of entrepreneurship.

Following this, Alice joined the Countryside Alliance, the UKs most respected rural campaigning organisation as a Regional Director. Three years on, she had become their Chief Executive, responsible for the strategy, political lobbying, media work and ensuring a sustainable financial future for the organisation.

In 2010 she stood for selection as the Conservative Candidate for the safe seat of Stratford on Avon. Alice joined the Peter Jones Foundation at the start of 2012 as their Chief Executive, where she works with the trustees and staff at the Peter Jones Foundation and Enterprise Academy to deliver a nationwide culture where enterprise and entrepreneurship thrive in Britain.
