It's been long awaited and now it's here. It's time we brace ourselves and truly get into the spirit of the London 2012 Olympics.
Just take a few steps out of your home and you'll find yourself deep in the Olympic magic. There's plenty to choose from; why not take a quick snap with the 2012 mascots Mandeville and Wenlock placed all around the River Thames or make a visit to one of the thousands of events popping off all around London's live sites, such as Hyde Park, Victoria Park and Potters Field - Tower Bridge.
Join in and satisfy your love for music performed by global musicians, theatre from the most renowned, Shakespeare, dance from dozens of volunteer dance groups, fashion and food from all over the world epitomising London's ethnic diversity, art from artists such as Yoko Ono and film from some of the very best directors of our time like Asif Kapadia and Mike Leigh. There's definitely something both you and your family can get involved in. Even the weather's smiling down at us; all is set for a wonderful summer. Take a stroll down south bank or more London and join in with the festivity with people from every continent on the planet.
Don't keep yourselves indoors, when watching the Olympics, make a trip to your local screening and join the local crowd, to really build an atmosphere with some extra cheers and "awws" to truly feel enjoined in the Olympic spirit.
Forget all the pessimistic and dull news you've heard, remove the scepticism and join in with the joy.
Fix yourself up to have some fun in this once in a lifetime experience. Live and breathe this 12 week festival, so in twenty to thirty years' time, when you're asked, where were you during the summer of 2012? You'll have a very exiting story to tell.
