Amy Agnew

Europe Director for Global Citizen

Amy Agnew is the Europe Director for Global Citizen. She has over 12 years of experience advocating on behalf of the world’s poorest and most vulnerable people. She spent 7 years at Amnesty International where she campaigned against human rights violations in Africa, before moving to Save the Children UK where she was Head of Campaigns on the flagship No Child Born to Die campaign. She has worked extensively in Africa, and lived in Uganda for a year while working for Amnesty International. She joined Global Citizen in April 2015.

Amy has an MA in History from Edinburgh University and an MA in International Studies and Diplomacy from the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies.

Amy is a board member of the Evelyn Trust which supports medical research and health and wellbeing projects in Cambridgeshire. She is on the committee of the Hackney and Islington branch of the Women’s Equality Party. She volunteers her time in support of the cancer charity Maggie’s.

Amy lives in London with her husband and 2 year old son.
