Anita Mitra

Gynaecologist-in-the-making. Cervical cancer researcher. Addicted to sweat

Dr Anita Mitra is a London-based doctor training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She is also a researcher, currently undertaking a PhD on cervical cancer at Imperial College London. Prior to becoming a doctor, Anita studied biochemistry at the University of Leicester, where she developed her interest in scientific research working in the fields of cancer chemoprevention and kidney transplant surgery.

Anita has a passion for sharing health-related information with her friends, who are now fed up of her incessant 'interesting facts', hence her need to start blogging!
She is also a science ambassador for 'i am Superfoxx', a community aimed at inspiring, informing and empowering women in all aspects of life.

Aside from being a self-confessed geek (and proud of it!) Anita is happiest in lycra, and spends her time doing squats and burpees with a great bunch of inspiring women at Nike Training Club. She also loves trying any new fitness-related activity and recently began practicing Pop Yoga, to balance her mind as well as her body.

She has been nicknamed 'The Duracell Bunny', and with so much to do in life and so little time, she is unlikely to slow down until the government enforces a human speed limit.
