Barbara Nadel

Crime fiction author, mother, wife and mental health campaigner. A visitor to Turkey for the last 30 years, she loves animals and travel.

Barbara Nadel is the author of three crime fiction series; the Çetin İkmen mysteries, set in Istanbul, Turkey, the Hancock stories set in wartime London and the Hakim and Arnold books based in the East End of London. In 2005, Barbara won the Crime Writers Association Silver Dagger for her İkmen novel, 'Deadly Web'. An East Londoner by birth, Barbara has a degree in psychology and worked in mental health services for many years before becoming a full-time writer. She is married with one grown up son and two tanks full of axolotls. She aspires to more cats than is sensible.
