Ben Cotton spent nearly a decade working for leading design and lifestyle publications such as Wallpaper*magazine in London. A collector and avid enthusiast of contemporary art, he decided in late 2007 to move away from the security of the publishing sector to pursue his passion with a career in the visual arts.

He set up East London Gallery Hang-Up in 2008 and remains the gallery director to date.
