Right now, a day is a long time in politics. In the time it takes for this blog to appear online after I press publish I wouldn't be surprised if several Ministers have resigned, at least two leadership elections have taken place and the entire membership of the House of Lords has voted to dissolve themselves in favour of an elected second chamber.

Climate Change Doesn't Give A Damn About Trump Or Brexit

Not only will the process of leaving and redefining our relationship with the EU consume our political discourse for the foreseeable future, it will also clog up the machineries of government. Little else will get a look in as whoever wins on June 8 attempts to unscramble an omelette decades in the making. Yet climate change doesn't give a damn about Brexit.

In December, the world's nations agreed in Paris what I hope history will see as the turning point in the fight to save humanity from climate catastrophe - an agreement to try to limit global warming to just 1.5 degrees.
