Mummy, Wife, Teacher, Bowel Cancer 'Babe' who can be caught over Sharing in the Sun!

In December 2016, at the age of 35, my life was thrown upside down when I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Bowel Cancer. As a busy mum of two and Deputy Headteacher in an outstanding secondary school, Cancer most certainly wasn’t in ‘the plan’ – although ‘it’ seemed to have other ideas!

Following a Bowel Resection, Lung Resection and Ablation, I’m currently undergoing 3rd Line Chemotherapy at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea. Whilst every statistic going will tell you that I’m not going to see my children grow up – I’m determined to make the most of the now, making memories, having fun, and showing that ‘life’ sometimes can only just begin when you understand what its truly about.

On a ‘Mission’ to raise awareness of never being too young to have bowel cancer, and to get the nation to drop their stiff upper lip and get talking about POO – 'Bowelbabe' is determined to change perceptions around Bowel Cancer in order to save lives!

I started the Bowelbabe Blog in Feburary 2017, this was then followed by appearances on the Victoria Derbyshire show and BBC breakfast show. I now have a weekly colum in the Sun Online “Things cancer made me say” and both me and ‘Bowelbabe’ are determined to make the most of ‘Living’ whilst saying #Cockoffcancer!

I can normally be found 'over sharing' on Instagram, proudly showing off my Scars and giving two fat fingers up to Cancer, with a large glass of Rose!
