Donald Hyslop

Chair of trustees, Borough Market

Donald Hyslop is Chair of the Trustees of Borough Market.  Together with his fellow volunteer trustees, he is responsible for setting and steering the strategic direction of the Borough Market to ensure  its protection and survival for generations to come.  In his day job,  he is Head of Regeneration and Community Partnerships at Tate Modern, London.

Over the last twelve years he has led a culture centred urban renewal programme which has transformed an important part of central London. This has been built on a series of partnerships bringing political agencies, business, BIDs and communities together with cultural organisations and world class artists. He is particularly interested in exploring and thinking about the role culture, architecture and museums can play in the regeneration, place making, economic and social development of cities and communities.  He is also Chair of Better Bankside, the business-led regeneration body for SE1.
