Dr Hayaatun Sillem

Dr Hayaatun Sillem is the CEO at the Royal Academy of Engineering, which brings together the most successful and talented engineers for a shared purpose: to advance and promote excellence in engineering for the benefit of society. The Royal Academy of Engineering is a national academy with a global outlook, providing analysis and policy support to promote the UK’s role as a great place to do business. The organisation takes a lead on engineering education and invests in the UK’s world-class research base to underpin innovation in addition to working to improve public awareness and understanding of engineering. Hayaatun has extensive leadership experience in UK and international engineering and innovation policy and programmes. She is also a trustee of the London Transport Museum, and a trustee and judge for the St Andrew’s Prize for the Environment. Hayaatun has a Masters in Biochemistry (MBiochem) from the University of Oxford and a PhD in signal transduction from University College London. She is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
