Dr Leon Moosavi is a sociologist of race and religion, specialising in Muslim communities in Britain. He is currently working on research projects relating to extremism, cultural diversity and community cohesion. He completed his PhD in the Sociology Department of Lancaster University in 2011. His thesis examined conversion to Islam in contemporary Britain, with the title: Islamophobia, Belonging and ‘Race’ in the Experiences of Muslim Converts in Britain.
