Esmée Hanna

Sociologist

Dr Esmée Hanna is a researcher in the Centre for Men’s Health, which is part of the School of Health and Wellbeing at Leeds Beckett University. A sociologist by background, with a PhD from the University of Leeds in Sociology, her major research interests focuses around families and young people, with a specific interest men as fathers. Dr Hanna works on research around broader men’s health topics, and is interested in the gendered analysis of various elements of social life. She has previously worked on projects around fatherhood and has been developing research around male infertility as part of her role at Leeds Beckett University, specifically exploring the impact and emotional responses that infertility evokes for men, as well as developing community collaborations for applied research around men’s health topics.
