History graduate and writer, writing about current affairs and culture; Editor, New Dalka, an Eng-language, Somali current affairs magazine.
Haroon Mohamoud read history at Cambridge, where he wrote his dissertation on contemporary Somali history. He has written for the Telegraph as a student writer and last summer his analysis of the Somali elections was published on English, German and Somali platforms.
At present, he is also the editor of New Dalka (http://www.dalka-magazine.com), an online English-language, Somali current affairs and culture magazine, inspired by the "trailblazing" independent free press of 1960s Somalia such as 'Dalka' and La Tribuna.

This move has been dismissed as draconian, no less by the parents of affected students.
