Wow! It's so warm I'm wearing a summery blouse today! Looks like we finally got our first glimpse of Spring...so in the spirit of that, I'm wearing a flowy bird and floral print long blouse. It's actually very long but I've managed to wear it tidy and tucked in today and have thrown on my lightest gilet over it. Most of you will have cottoned on by now that I like mixing textures, so the contrast between the gilet and the silky blouse is something that really appeals to me.

The shape of this blouse is loose but it skims over all the right places and actually hints at the figure- which allows me to wear this tucked or untucked. I usually don't wear long summery blouses untucked- especially the long ones- because being petite they very easily overwhelm. With this blouse however, that's not the case, which is an exciting change for me! I've worn this in a previous post untucked and you can see it in my archive: www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/vivian-ho.

I'm wearing extremely black jeans from J Brand and I've paired my outfit with another hint of colour with my aubergine coloured pumps. The shoes have a gold sole which I've subtly combined with the gold hardware on my bag.

Blouse- Warehouse
Jeans- J Brand
Bag- Chanel
Heels- Gina
Gilet- Vintage Gucci

Useful Tip:
If you're petite like me, choose your prints and your style of tops carefully! If you love the print but the blouse does appear to be a tad too heavy on you, try tucking it in- this reduces the bulk and gives you back your shape!

We have had slightly warmer weather the past few days, so I have swapped my heavy coat for a sheepskin gilet. My outfit today is all about natural tones and colours.

I'm wearing khaki green denim jeans from J Brand with two, side zippers, slanted pockets to the front and with zippers at the ankle too. I've matched it with a pair of low-key boots with a knitted faux- foldover at the top. As most of you know, I love mixing and matching different textures. With such a understated ensemble, I've chosen to match it with a loud, 'statement-piece' leopard print, pony-hair bag!

Jeans- J Brand
Jumper- H & M
Boots- Karen Millen
GIlet- Karl Donoghue

Useful Tip:
Mixing textures adds a more interesting element to any outfit even when the colours are low-key! (I.e. in today's outfit, I have mixed suede, sheepskin, knit, denim, and even pony-hair too!)

Today I'm wearing bright and rich colours by pulling out the yellow jacket from Asos that I wore a few posts ago and I have paired it with one of my favourites- the deep purple, side-tie top also from Asos. The blue, capped point from the heels adds a little more colour to the ensemble while complimenting the purple top nicely too-(if you look from afar, they look like they match!) I've kept everything else simple and to a minimum, and with my jeans and handbag both being black, the colours can stand out on their own.

Some of you may have started to notice that I wear this top quite a lot in the autumn/winter season. This is because those jewel tones are always suitable for this time of year and because it covers me up that much more -keeping me warm! If I'm not wearing heavy outerwear this time of year (in today's post for example), then I will always keep a chunky scarf or snood in my bag!

Useful Tip:
When wearing a collarless jacket or coat, be sure to wear a neckline that doesn't clash!
You can wear a tidy higher neckline, or wear a lower simple one- nothing in between!
It's a fur caplet/jacket that I bought from what I refer to as a Hong Kong 'high street' shop- it's not a luxury brand, but a chain similar to Warehouse or Topshop, called Cypress. The jacket part has been dyed an unusual green fading into a dark rich brown and the warm collar is dark brown fox trim. As this piece is very different, I chose to wear white underneath to bring out the rich, unique colours some more. Furthermore, the lining of the jacket is a cheeky leopard print which is quirky and adds more character to the already unique piece!

The shoes I've decided to wear are plum coloured heels from Gina to give the outfit some more personality. In addition, I find that greens and purples usually go well with one another in the way they contrast.

After having snapped these photos for today, I realise that they don't show the quality of the cut of the jacket. So I've decided to bring out an older photo from a previous post to better show off the cut (see last photo).
I apologise if they haven't been super elaborate and detailed, but I guess that makes them more wearable day-to-day anyway!

I'm wearing one of my favourite tops today- the purple, neck-tie cotton shirt that many of you will have seen before. I've also got my black leather jacket with a special quilted stitching detail on the sleeves and back. I don't think the pattern is very visible in the photos, but if you can imagine the Christian Dior quilting on the Lady Dior bag- this pattern is very similar if not almost identical to that. The jacket has a fox fur collar which keeps me extra warm without having to wear a scarf. I like mixing textures, so the leather with the fur collar is a nice contrast as it softens up the look and it also gives the jacket a nicer silhouette and shape.

I'm using my go-to classic grey Prada bag and have matched them with silvery, metallic Yves Saint Laurent tribute heels. This outfit can be very easily dressed up with heels or dressed down with some boots or loafers!
Useful Tip:
The easiest way of altering an outfit to go from day to night is by swapping your footwear!
So make sure your outfit can easily accommodate both!
I've matched the gold soles with the gold hardware on the bag which subtly pulls the outfit together nicely.

When wearing a gilet, I think it best to wear it with simplicity. I usually like to make only one item I a 'feature' piece as it stops any outfit from going overboard- and in this case, that feature piece would be the gilet. This outfit is very wearable and easy to replicate by anyone. It's also very easy to dress up or down with different accessories or shoes; for instance, swapping the heels for boots or adding jewellery.

I prefer to buy tops from the high street as they wear out much easier and therefore need replacing often. Items which I invest in are jackets, coats, and accessories- because a well tailored item will last you forever and will never go out of style!

My favourite pieces are my most versatile ones! When you have a summery blouse, you can still get away with it in the autumn. I'm mixing different textures and colours with this outfit from the flowy blouse, to the gilet, to the patent bag and metallic heels. With this blouse there are some beige tones which compliment the gilet perfectly and brings out the rich blue even more. Prints have been very popular this year and when you're petite you need to be careful that the print doesn't overwhelm you- and it's not a matter of how big the print is either. (And in case you can't see it, it's a bird print on the blouse.) People often say you have to wear small prints when you're petite- this is not something I always follow, you simply have to try and test it.

To be fair, I have very few pieces with prints this large, this was one of the exceptional pieces. I find that I can get away with wearing this top because it has been cut very well and even when its not tucked in, you can still see the silhouette and the waistline- not something you get very often. I will wear it tucked in one of the upcoming posts to show you how it looks worn differently!

A very good friend and I recently had a random chat and wellies came up in the conversation. Having now spent 9 years in London, this year I finally succumbed - (I couldn't take the rain anymore earlier this year) and had to go and buy these wellies. So today I've decided to post an outfit with this purchase of mine. Unfortunately, my wellies aren't super exciting, but it's to my taste and it goes with my wardrobe!

I'm wearing a 'peter pan' collar knit- the solid colour collar is contrasting to the dual colour body, as well as to the texture of the knit. The colour of the top is actually a navy blue- rather than black- mixed with pink. The black shorts are from ASOS and I'm wearing these shorts with semi-opaque tights. And of course, I'm wearing black wellies which are from Burberry. They have an embossed logo to the side of boot. I chose these black wellies because they are very subtle and I wanted them to look more like 'boots' rather than wellies. The black colour makes it easy to wear with everything else in my wardrobe, such as jeans, shorts etc. I don't own that many skirts, but you can easily pair wellies with that too!

The inside of the wellies has the classic Burberry check pattern which is a nice little touch. You can spot subtle hints of the print when you're moving around. I'm also matching a structured patent black bag which is a good contrast to the tailored shorts, the looser knit top and the wellies.
Useful Tip:
Dark or solid coloured wellies are a nice substitution to your staple autumn/winter leather boots when it's raining!
It has a side neck tie which dresses up the outfit and keeps me warmer as well. I have paired it with the Zara 'tweed' style jacket I wore a few posts ago. The jacket is a minty shade of pastel green and it contrasts nicely with the jewel toned purple. You might notice that because the jacket has a lower round neckline with no collar, the knot from the necktie sits comfortably on top, therefore not affecting the fit of the jacket.

The studs on the jacket are a frosted silver metal hardware and the fabric has flecks of grey/silver running through it and that is why I have decided to match that to the silver hardware on the bag.
I'm wearing plum colour heels which is a nice alternative to a black!
When you try but you can't match two items' colours perfectly, picking something in the same colour group does the same trick! (ie. plum shoes and purple top)

With the weather being so dull, I wanted to add some summer colour - buttercup yellow! For me, this is a daring colour and I'm not sure I own anything else in this particular shade! I've added a leopard print pony-hair bag to work the autumn season back into the outfit. The Dolce and Gabbana bag is on loan from my mother until I see her next time I fly home - thank you, mom! Leopard print or animal print - though a very cliche autumn pattern - it never fails to resurface every year in some way or another during the autumn/winter season. With that said, I find that on some people animal print looks great, but on me it looks a bit silly and it ages me. So that's why I always keep animal print to a minimum and I only have it a few accessories (belts, bags) with a hint of animal print.

I'm wearing a white long sleeved t-shirt, black jeans and patent black heels. The soles of the heels are gold which matches the gold hardware on the bag as well. I have kept the rest of the outfit pretty toned down to let the jacket and bag stand out. I think it's a nice contrast in colour and pattern.
When animal print doesn't suit you in clothing, you can still try it but on your accessories to keep it toned down!
Today I'm wearing a Karl Donoghue sheepskin gilet which is the feature piece of this outfit. You will see why I'm calling it a 'feature' piece, especially once it's been zipped up. The fit and style of the gilet completely changes and the collar comes together beautifully- an expertly cut and designed piece. I'm also wearing a grey jumper with black jeans and the same boots and bag I wore from the last post. The dark olive colour of the bag and boots along with the colour of the gilet really complement one another.

When I wear gilets, I like to wear them simply- not cluttered. Most of you will know by now I'm not fussy and would rather do simple colours and silhouettes rather than heavy accessories or I like to make one item a stand-out rather than piling everything on.
Useful Tip:
When wearing any type of fur- do not wear it in the rain!
Snow is all right, so long as you dust it off immediately upon going indoors before it melts.
No matter what you do, absolutely do not wear fur in the rain, you will ruin it and it will start to smell mouldy!
With natural colours and tones I'm referring to forest greens, khaki greens, beiges, browns and camel colours. Today I'm wearing a light khaki green t-shirt that I've worn in some previous posts over the summer from Splendid- they make super comfortable cotton shirts. I've paired this shirt with a vintage Gucci gilet (early Tom Ford era) and I'm wearing boots from Karen Millen which pull all these colours together.

I'm also matching my hardware today with the gold tone bracelet, watch and the gold hardware on the khaki colour bag. This is a very 'early autumn' ensemble, and I'll be honest, the gilet only keeps you so warm- luckily I'm mostly in doors today. I'm trying to squeeze one more wear out of my t-shirt before it gets just too cold!

Many many apologies for not having posted in several weeks! I have been super busy and I recently got back from Turkey for a business trip- fashion related, of course!

Today i'm wearing a mint green jacket from Zara and I've paired it with a white shirt as the jacket has white in it as well. The grey bag is a nice match as there are flecks of grey/silver in the jacket which mutually compliment both pieces. I'm wearing black jeans and my slightly worn-out (but trusty) brown boots.

People who follow me will know that I never wear Zara- not because I do not like Zara- (trust me, I love Zara), but because nothing will fit! So to my surprise when I came across this jacket and tried it on, I was overjoyed because it actually fit! Zara have produced quite a number of Chanel-esque 'tweed' jackets this season, and this was the one I snapped up from the collection back a few months ago. Be careful when you're buying though, take a close look at the stitching and the finishing of the panels and the pockets. I tried on five of the same jacket in two different sizes before I settled on this one. (Yes, in two different sizes! As there didn't seem to be much of a difference between either size!)
Tonight I'm wearing a black body from Asos, it has sheer sleeves and a cotton jersey body (it's basically a one-piece). I'm wearing black jeans from Miss Selfridge to keep the whole look chic. For girls who have never tried wearing bodies- I highly recommend them! They are super comfortable and you will never have the issues with keeping a top tucked into trousers or skirts. I have bodies various different styles, including work shirts, evening tops such as this one, and more casual tops to wear under suit jackets and such.

The metallic Yves Saint Laurent heels make the outfit less harsh and it goes with the other metal tones I'm wearing. On the cuffs of the body there are tiny metal studs which go nicely with the metal chain of the bag. Sometime I'll wear the body with the cuffs folded in when I don't want it to be too busy or clashing with something else. In this instance, I've left them as they are! With the metal studs on the cuffs the outfit is already pretty complete so I didn't see the need for any jewellery!
I'm wearing the same t-shirt I wore a couple posts ago but in a different colour, it's also from Splendid and this one is a burgundy-maroon colour. I can't stop raving about these Splendid t-shirts- they are simply so comfortable!

The colour is quite easy to wear. For my skin tone I am usually more suited to bright or rich tones rather than pastels. A t-shirt of this colour is great in the summer on its own or perfect to layer up in the colder months. The navy blue jeans are from Topshop Petite, the shoes are YSL the tribute heels, and the bag is from Chloe.
