Global Child Protection in Emergencies Specialist for Plan International, based in London, UK. Janis started her humanitarian career in refugee protection. Her interest in refugee children led her to specialise in child protection in emergencies, working with Save the Children in frontline responses in Gaza, Kenya, Chile, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Liberia and Ivory Coast. Since joining Plan in September 2011, Janis has supported the development of Plan’s work in child protection in emergencies at a global level, as well as conducting field missions to emergencies in several Plan countries around the world. Janis’s areas of specialty include response management, case management, refugee children, psychosocial support and community-based child protection. Janis holds a Masters degree in Forced Migration from the University of Oxford.
