Somewhat of an online journo and media dabbler who has just graduated from University of Birmingham in English Literature and Classics.
I’m a second year English Literature and Classics Student at The University of Birmingham (UK), currently writing for the national online student newspaper The Tab and Fashion Editor for the Birmingham Tab. Other hobbies include a lifelong love for drawing portraits, the writing of a novel and burying myself in internship and graduate career options.
Bringing some light to the silenced voices of society, the spectrum of feminism, and issues both brushed aside and widely debated, I hope to provoke a thought if nothing else.
Stipulating what is appropriate to wear according to your sex is the 'norm'. It's been that way for one hell of a long time, too. After generations of kids being herded into a gender mould, John Lewis has become the first British store to let them choose whatever they like for themselves.
Society, misogyny, the media; all of these things persuade us to live our lives according to the accepted route that the generations before us conformed to. Yet if feminism teaches us that everyone should have the right to become exactly who they want to be, why do so many men blindly dismiss it?
