Jasper Hope

Chief Operating Officer at the Royal Albert Hall

Prior to joining the Royal Albert Hall, Jasper was Senior Director at the US concert and event promoting company AEG Live. Over the years he has created, managed and marketed a diverse range of people and projects including Yehudi Menuhin, Jose Carreras, Jamie Oliver, Jools Holland, the Spanish Riding School of Vienna, the Kenwood picnic concerts, the annual Nobel Peace Prize Concert, the Hampton Court Palace Festival and Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland amongst many others.

In 2008, Jasper joined the Hall as Director of Events. He became Chief Operating Officer in October 2010 and under his tenure it has grown into a leading promoter with its own commercial and artistic vision. Annual revenue has increased from £12.6 million in 2008 to over £16 million in 2011, in the same time the number of sponsors has grown significantly from 2 to 17- vital for a charity that is financially self-sufficient.

He is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Hall’s programming, including services to third party promoters and introducing a series of Hall own-promoted events including the film with live orchestra series, four sold out performances of Lang Lang, the reintroduction of ice shows as well as overseeing the popular opera and ballet co-promotes. From 356 events in 2008, the Hall now hosts 372 main auditorium events per year. He also oversaw the opening of the Hall’s new small-scale purpose-built performance space, the Elgar Room, in September 2009 which now hosts around 80 events a year.

In making the venue more flexible and adaptable he has carefully positioned the Hall as a leading Superbrand (No 12 in 2012) and Coolbrand and made it an appealing destination and partner to the consumer as well as corporate markets.
