Jo Hinde

Qualified and Registered Veterinary Nurse

Jo has worked in the veterinary industry since 2007 and has a special interest in rabbits. She currently works as a locum RVN and is also a voluntary Outreach Officer for the RWAF. She is keen to promote rabbit welfare and provides lectures to the veterinary profession, students, schools and the general public on a wide range of rabbit care both in the UK and internationally. In 2014 she was chosen as the Blue Cross Veterinary Nurse of the Year and nominated for the Petplan Veterinary Nurse of the Year in 2015. In 2016 she was a finalist for the CEVA Animal Welfare Awards and a nominee for the Petplan Veterinary Nurse of the Year and Volunteer of the Year awards.

She also has wider interests including zoology, conservation and wildlife and is passionate about improving welfare for all animals. Due to this, she is a fellow of the Zoological Society of London and also a member of the All Party Group for Animal Welfare (APGAW) which aims to help keep the MP's and peers informed about animal welfare issues via a discussion forum that may then lead to legislation that improves animal welfare. Jo also assists some of the charity partners of the Pet Advertising Advisory Group (PAAG) to try to raise welfare standards for animals sold online.

Her voluntary work also extends to working closely with other veterinary professionals and organizations within the Team Badger group to help ensure the true facts of the bTB crisis are shown and the scientific evidence is taken seriously.
