John McFall was made a Peer in the 2010 Dissolution Honours List, following 23 years’ service as the Member of Parliament for Dumbarton and later West Dunbartonshire. He was Chairman of the House of Commons Treasury Select Committee 2001-2010. He is a member of the House of Lords Economic Affairs Committee, and is currently serving as a member of the Parliamentary Commission on Banking Standards. He is the founding Chairman of New City Network think tank, www.newcitynetwork.co.uk.
