Labour MP for Glasgow North West, Parliamentary Private Secretary to Yvette Cooper MP
John Robertson has been a member of parliament for Glasgow North West since 2000. Through his work on the Energy and Climate Change committee, John has campaigned against rising energy bills and excessive Big Six profits. John is also Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Nuclear Energy, as well as of the Communications, Shipbuilding and Music groups. Additionally, John is Parliamentary Private Secretary to Yvette Cooper, Shadow Home Secretary.
Prior to becoming an MP, John worked for British Telecom for 31 years, working his way up from apprentice to management. During this time he was highly active in the Communications Workers Union (CWU).
