Photographer and social entrepreneur

Norwegian Jørn Tomter lives with his family in Hackney and has been running his own photography business in London, Berlin and Oslo for more than 10 years.

He published his first book The Norwegian Way in 2007. The book shows youth coming off age in Norway photographed over five years. Photos from the book here tomter.net

Jørn is currently working on his second book being photographed in east London.

Jørn started the project I Love Chatsworth Road, which is an ongoing photographic archive of the area around Chatsworth Road in Hackney, London. Part of the project is to give local youth free workshops in photography. So far the project has resulted in several exhibitions and two magazines. More than 500 people have had their picture taken.
