Why Aren't We Listening To The Evidence On Practical Science?

Part of the debate about practical science rests on the fact that we don't even agree on the basics: what makes a good practical lesson? What are practical lessons supposed to achieve? How can schools improve the quality of their practical science?

Are We Becoming A Nation Of Techno Nerds?

STEM subjects don't lead only to 'techno nerd' careers. We don't tell kids they can only write novels if they do English literature A Level, and we don't tell kids that if they take geography A Level, they are destined to make maps for a living. STEM A Levels are a great basis for a wide range of careers and lives.

Give Us Some Real Role Models In Tomorrow's World

My ideal would be to have soap characters enjoying studying science, working as science technicians, or in any of the many science jobs no one knows exist, or better still, showing how science can lead you down any career path.
