Kim Davies

Mum, lawyer and closet lunatic.

Once upon a time there was a little girl who wanted to be a writer. Or a fairy. Or perhaps a bricklayer. Somewhere along the way she didn't keep herself as nice as she should have and she stuffed up and inadvertently became a criminal lawyer instead. Think of it as a little like accidentally falling pregnant but extrapolated out over the course of a 10 year period of mooting around, cramming for exams and putting off going out into the real world. Somewhere along the way the little writer was scared off.

This blog is about tracking her down and seeing if she still has a voice . I'm hoping she is waiting patiently with pen poised somewhere under the piles of files and despite the incessant demands of my clients. This is about me being true to who I really am, warts and all, as I tackle the seemingly incessant task of balancing my career and two cheeky daughters, a long-suffering husband and incontinent, farting dog. I hope that the stuff that makes me laugh and cry as I career out of control into my forties, makes you feel the same way.
