We're bombarded on social media with organic, seasonal, whole food porn, it does mislead people into a style of eating where they think calories don't matter and then are understandably disheartened when they don't lose weight. Whilst I'm not for a minute saying that the passionate movement away from processed food is not a good thing, there's just more to it than meets the eye.
It may come as a surprise but you don't need to train to be skinny (and for what it's worth I'm not anti the word 'skinny'). Up to 80% of our weight is driven by what we eat, and so if you're super disciplined with your food you can get there... It's a habit you need to build, nurture and embrace.
"It's so hard for me to lose weight", she bemoaned. "Nothing works" she sighed. I'm not being smug as I really have been there but you have to change your frame of reference. It was hard for me to lose weight too, but you have to suck it up and do it anyway.
