Marc Hawker

Award winning director

Marc Hawker is one half of Oscar-shortlisted and award winning directing duo, DarkFibre, alongside Ishbel Whitaker.

Marc was an award-winning architect and Guest Professor of design in Los Angeles at SCI-Arc, and he was a presenter on the pirate radio station B92 in Serbia during the Balkan war where he filmed his first documentary. Marc and Ishbel were creative directors at BBH creating Levi’s first branded content for C4 and for Guy hands when he was bidding for the Millennium Dome. They have collaborated with seminal architect Zahra Hadid, fashion photographer David Lachapelle and the KLF. Their work crosses borders between film, video installation, cinema documentaries and creative directing.

The US government also commissioned DarkFibre to create three spots for their national Anti Meth campaign, and the pair created the “unsubscribe” campaign for Amnesty - their first social network campaign for which they directed Amnesty’s most successful viral film ever, The Stuff Of Life, achieving 3 million hits in just three days.
