Born and brought up in Mumbai, India, Maunika Gowardhan is a popular food writer and private chef in the North East of England.

Maunika cooks up scrumptious meals for discerning diners showcasing how fabulous regional Indian food can be when you begin with fresh ingredients, putting together dishes that are full of flavour.

She writes regular features for magazines, newspapers. Recently commissioned to be part of the Tilda Taste Panel. Maunika will be developing recipes for Tilda, cooking at brand events and advising on healthy eating and benefits of rice for families. Maunika continues to work with regional & national brands promoting good produce and food that compliments flavours of the Indian sub continent.

She also presents a food segment for BBC Radio Newcastle on the afternoon show; one of the highest rated BBC regional programmes across the country.
