President of the Bahrain Center for Human Rights
Nabeel Rajab is a prominent international human rights defender. He is the president of the Bahrain Center for Human Rights and a member of Human Rights Watch, the International Federation for Human Rights and the Gulf Center for Human RIghts. He was awarded the Ion Ratiu Democracy Award in 2011. Rajab was imprisoned between 2012-2014 for organising peaceful protests calling for democratic reform in Bahrain.
