Lib Dem Activists Fight to Uphold Core Values

While such questions remain, the Liberal Democrats should not rush to welcoming Lord Rennard back to a position of prominence in parliament and in policy-making. To do so would be to show that it's 'business as usual' in the old boy's club of Westminster, and would make the Liberal Democrats outspoken apologists of an abusive political culture.

Osborne's Budget Won't Kickstart Economy

The most welcome element of Osborne's budget is the introduction of the Liberal Democrat policy to raise the personal tax allowance to £10,000 next year, taking the poorest earners out of income tax altogether. The rest, I'm afraid, fails to be sufficiently progressive to satiate the social liberal majority within the Liberal Democrat party membership.

Nick Clegg Must Deliver a Fair Sustainable Economy

Nick Clegg's speech yesterday at the Royal Commonwealth Society has left me baffled. He claims to position the Liberal Democrats as "governing from the centre ground". If only. Instead, the area he has chosen to occupy, is a bizarre electoral wasteland where few voters exist.
