Rachael Barber

Director, Global Community Investment, Barclays

Rachael Barber is responsible for the development and delivery of Barclays global community investment strategy and partnerships. In 2011 Barclays invested more than £63 million in communities and engaged more than 73,000 employees in volunteering, fundraising and regular giving.

Rachael joined Barclays in 1996 on a graduate training programme and worked in branch banking finance & investor relations. In 1999 she joined the Community Investment team, delivering the bank’s financial inclusion strategy in the UK. She moved to her current position in 2006.

Rachael graduated from the University of Manchester. She is a Fellow of the Aspen Institute First Mover programme. In 2011, she was honoured by Devex as one of the 40 under 40 international development leaders in London.
