Rami Jarrah

Political Activist - Co-Director of The Activists News Association

Rami Jarrah (28) was arrested in an anti-government protest and subject to torture at a political branch in Damascus. The pseudonym he used on Twitter @AlexanderPageSY when cited by western media was soon compromised by Syrian intelligence to his real identity, which forced him to flee the country through the border. Jarrah now lives in Cairo, Egypt where he co-directs the Activists News Association (ANA) an organization that seeks to support citizen journalism in Syria. The Activists News Association accept donations with which journalism and communication equipment may be purchased and passed on to Syrian activists to help continue and expand the coverage of events in Syria.
