Rankin

Photographer, filmmaker and founder of Collabor8te and The Hunger

Synonymous with dynamic and intimate portraiture, the photographer Rankin has shot everyone from royalty to refugees. Turning his lens to the moving image Rankin began co-directing with Chris Cottam on numerous commercials and music videos. In 2006, their debut film, The Lives of Saints, penned by Tony Grisoni, enjoyed success on the festival circuit and won the Grand Jury Prize at the Salento International Film Festival.

In 2011, Rankin set up Rankin Film Productions (RFP), via which he began working as executive producer on a slate of films and also directed the short film ‘Rachael’, written by Irvine Welsh. That year RFP also launched a short filmmaking scheme, Collabor8te, aiming to showcase fresh talent in the film industry. That same year Rankin founded The Hunger, a biannual magazine for uncompromised self-expression, innovation and discovery.
