Deputy Chief Executive of deafblind charity Sense

Richard Kramer is Deputy Chief Executive of deafblind charity Sense. In addition to his Deputy CEO duties, he is responsible for the Policy and Communications Directorate, which covers public policy, communications & public awareness, information, advice and research, legal, safeguarding and quality assurance, engagement, volunteering and arts and wellbeing.

Prior to joining Sense, Richard worked at the social enterprise Turning Point for over ten years in a number of Director posts and was instrumental in leading the delivery and strategic direction of Connected Care, Turning Point’s model of service delivery that involves service users in the design and delivery of services across England. He brings with him a wealth of experience in the policy arena as well as service development and helping to drive growth within charities.

A qualified solicitor, Richard has worked for public affairs consultancy, NCVO, and was Mencap’s Head of Campaigns for four years. He has been responsible for a number of publications on dual diagnosis and complex needs. Richard was also a Trustee of Respond for ten years.
