Rosie Choueka

38 year old Londoner

My name is Rosie Choueka. I a 38 years old and live in NW London, with my husband, daughter (age 7) and son (age 4). I am a partner in a City law firm, specialising in antitrust/procurement law.

In June 2014 I was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer. I had conventional treatment consisting of a lumpectomy followed by 8 cycles of chemotherapy. One week after my final dose of chemo, I found a new lump in my breast. Tests confirmed that this was cancerous, and that the cancer had spread to my liver.

I starting blogging about my experiences and emotions just after my primary diagnosis in 2014, but didn't publish my blog until I finished my first round of chemo. As it turned out, this was just before my secondary diagnosis. Since then I have continued to blog about living with secondary cancer while trying to carry on life as "normal". My blog focuses on my feelings and reactions, rather than just describing my treatment. I hope that it gives an insight into my situation, answering the questions that people want to ask but are worried about airing, and providing support to others in a similar situation.
