Ruki Heritage

Assistant Director of Student Experience & Head of Student Support at the University of Bedfordshire

Ruki Heritage is Assistant Director of Student Experience & Head of Student Support at the University of Bedfordshire, a position she has held since 2015. She is responsible for the provision of student support services, including counselling, mental health and disabilities, mitigation, student engagement, money advice, scholarships and bursaries, and the University’s community and faith provision, in addition to other strategic responsibilities. Prior to this, she was a lecturer focussing on students with social and behavioural issues. She holds an undergraduate degree in Systems Analysis and Design and a Master’s degree in Human Resources from De Montfort University. Ruki is passionate about social mobility and believes that being from a disadvantaged background or a low income family should not be a barrier to young people reaching their full potential. Driven by her personal experience seeing talented men and women missing out on a university education due to the lack of support and of opportunities to fully realise their academic potential, Ruki is committed to helping young people today to graduate as professionals.
