Having worked at Dyke House College in Hartlepool for two and a half years, firstly as part of a team setting up the Sixth Form and then as Aspirations Coordinator, I have worked with pupils from KS2 through to KS5 and seen our first cohort progress to university. Recently moved to UCL in London to spend time researching all the many questions I need answers to... and blogging about the experience.
‘Dead shan’ is a tribute to the incredible pupils who taught me many things and enriched my vocabulary with phrases I never knew existed.
Hartlepool definition of ‘dead shan’ – unfair, outrageous or patently disagreeable.
